Recall and Reclaim Mt. Pleasant Public Schools is a grassroots effort to restore balance and transparency to the current Mt. Pleasant Public Schools board. As a community, we strongly believe in academic success and access to good education for all children. However, we have drawn a line when it comes to political and ideological agendas being promoted and encouraged in our public schools. When parents’ concerns are ignored or considered irrelevant, then parents and the local community must take action!
In order to reclaim our schools, we must come together in signing a petition to recall board members, specifically those who push their own political and ideological agendas that are in complete opposition to the voice and will of most parents and stakeholders in the community. Our community!
The petition language was approved on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, but petition gathering cannot begin until Wednesday, September 15, 2021. We will have 60 days to gather 3,200 signatures of registered voters residing in the Mt. Pleasant School district boundaries. The petition language focused on the specific mask mandate vote on July 19, 2021.
